Father Time what have you done to me?

Do you guys remember looking forward to a night on the town, paintbrush in hand ready for whatever came your way, staying out until the bars closed down, going home with strangers, waking up in *deebo's pigeon coop, and still making it to work on time? We were tough weren't we? Those memories that us 30somthings and even some 40somethings vigorously hold onto have been responsible for as much if not more mental anguish than perhaps all the drugs in the world combined! Secretly we think "I can still keep up with them" but the bitter truth like last night's mistake is religiously shone on by the mornings painful light! "WHAT WAS I THINKING?"

So what does this all mean? It means that it's ok to make a day of going to Home Depot and Lowe's, maybe bed bath and beyond, if there is enough time!

* reference to the movie FRIDAY where smokey wakes up in deebo's pigeon coop!

mother nature has been giving me shrinkage!

Yup! It's cold out, and with mother nature gently fondling my nether regions my preference is to stay indoors and do a little bit of nothing! On a good note, my commuter bike is finished! Have yet to give it a real test, still waiting for my bags and rack to come in.

Got on the bike a little bit and my legs felt decent, which was a surprise to me. This weekend depending on the weather, as I also have become a candy ass like my friend Justin Farmer, my butt might get on the saddle for a few hours, maybe with the likes of my old time friend Mike Padgett..

My mountain bike is on the sidelines at the moment as my attempt to convert it to disc brakes went .. well .. not as expected. Adapters and different size rotors are needed; however, my air head ass learned a lil sumthin sumthin about brakes in the process, go ahead, ask me anything!

It feels good to be where here at the moment, peaceful, with family, new responsibilities and everything that comes with that. Life does not suck!

Day 1 – Honesty is the best policy!

I'm going to be very honest about this whole experience on this blog. Some of you will laugh at me, some of you will sympathize, some of you will call me weak and what not, but know that this is not for you, its for my son, daughter and wife…

When I got home, my mood was somber at best, poor Monette has had to put up with a lot of this lately mostly because my core doesn't feel like it used to. There should probably be some kind of medicinal intake on my part, but usually riding my bike would take care of it. I'm not riding anymore, and my caloric intake is that of a sumo wrestler, put everything together and the recipe equal's disaster!

Day 1.

Skipped breakfast, ate a high carbohydrate lunch consisting of leftover greenbean casserole and mashed potato's. 1000 calories! All went well until dinner time, I had a 3 piece fried chicken meal and 2 burritos.. like 3200 calories, empty calories! Funny thing is for like 1 hour I felt great and happy and like myself.. That was quickly washed away by a lazy fog of nothingness.. Not good, something has to change!!
